Your linkedin headline is costing you leads

Stop Using Your Job Title as Your LinkedIn Headline

Especially if you’re a BDR, SDR, AE, ADR, or Sales Manager.

Let me be blunt:

If your LinkedIn headline says nothing but “Account Executive at [Company],” you’re losing credibility and opportunities.

When I meet someone new in sales, I almost always ask:

“Can I see your LinkedIn profile?”

And if it’s all job titles, no value, no relevance, no personality? It’s an automatic no thanks.

Buyers are checking you out. Before they respond, before they book, before they trust.

Your headline is the first thing they see. And if it screams “Just another seller,” they won’t stick around.

So, What Should You Put in Your Headline Instead?

Start with who you help and how. End with your role or even a fun personal detail.

Here’s a better formula:

Helping [ICP] solve [specific pain] | [Value] | [Role] | [Personal hook]

Example:
Simplifying Workflows for Marketing Teams | GTM @ Acme | Killer Banana Bread Baker

It’s clear. It’s human. It builds trust.
